When one is sick around our house you become, Queen of the Universe. That means nothing you say or do can be held against you. Well, I started upchucking last Friday, and although I think my last episode was last night, one never knows. I think it was stress, a bad pump set and a virus trying literally to kill me (diabetes + insulin dependent diabetes = DKA or near death). SO rough week or so and I haven't blogged.
First off thank you to BAM my SP10, who turns out to Bethanie Ann Franks and I love her blog and have lots of questions, which I will email later. She has been such an inspiring spoiler. I made a felted bowl that holds most of the smaller stuff and hopefully now that Adam has returned we will get a photo of all her lovely swag. I promise another blog in a couple days oozing about her greatness.
Our house is excited about a bunch of stuff coming up, first off Harry Potter Movie, Cat Bordhi's sock book, Harry Potter book, kyphoplasty and doctors appointments, and the fourth of July. Lots to do in July.
And I need to go to sleep, I wonder how long I will remain Queen of the Universe.... I am beginning to like it, so I suspect not long.

- I am a spousal caregiver. My husband is blind since birth, an amazing musician who has recently had more than his share of health problems. We are doing well, still in love and he will get better!
About J
J is my husband AKA DH. He is a sweet gentle man. He is a gifted composer and keyboard player his passion is Jazz. He is also blind since brith. He also has seizures, which led to severe osteoporosis and well it was a long summer in 2006.
About Miss Penny
Miss Penny is our service dog. She specifically is a seizure alert and response dog. (I promise more on her later)
About Barbara
Wow! Barbara has changed our lives, she is a nurse (certified nursing assistant to be exact) who works with J. M-F to help him regain his physical health. She is also a wonderful human being and has added so much to both our lives.
My parents
My mom is a mom. She stayed at home and baked cookies. She went to college to get her M-R-S and once she did she became Mom. She is a woman of faith who believes that moving moutains through faith is fact not fiction. She's older now, having some health problems, but at seventy it shows she has led a clean healthy life. She grew up on a dairy farm and it is my nanna and her who are responsible for my household survival skills, cooking, cleaning, sewing etc. There has not been a year since I left home that I haven't been grateful for and needed those skills.
My dad is eighty something now. He is a rock. He still gets out the weed eater like some gladiator to do battle with the weeds. He is amazing his parents were missionaries in the Philipines, where he was born and were they remained through WW2. My dad was a teenage civilian prisoner of the Japanese, who were no less cruel than the Nazi's of whose atrocities we are all well aware. My grandmother was one of three Americans executed by the Japanese and recognized as a hero for her efforts with a congressional medal of honor. I mention this because it changed his life and colors my every decision in life with heroic inspiration and faith.

Being Queen even for a day is nice. I was like that back in May when some mushrooms made me sick. Hope you are feeling better. Have you seen the book of Harry Potter inspired patterns? I think it is very cool and since I have kids, I might need it someday. Never know when they will quit wanting to be Dora or Diego and want to be Harry!
